Want to make a difference in the lives of young people? There are many ways you can support the mission of The First Tee Puerto Rico and help us introduce the game of golf and its inherent values like honesty, respect, and confidence, to kids and teens.
Programs Impacted by your Support
Expanding School & Community Partnerships
Through strategic community and school partnerships—including the Boys & Girls Club of Las Margaritas and The Palmas Academy—we introduce First Tee’s character-building curriculum directly into youth organizations and schools across the island. Funded by our inaugural May Memorial Day tournament, our 2026 summer programming expanded our reach to 600 youth across partner camps. Your support equips physical education classes and community groups with the tools to teach core values like honesty, integrity, and leadership through golf.
On the Golf Course Expansion
As young participants progress, we provide structured on-course training within their local communities. We actively host programming across primary golf facilities—TPC Dorado Beach, Palmas Athletic Club, Punta Borinquen Golf Club, Royal Isabela Golf Club, and El Legado Golf Club—serving ~880 youth year-to-date. To meet surging demand, we are actively expanding into new municipalities, including launching a new site partnership in Gurabo to serve 50+ eager local youth.
Developing Local Coaches & Youth Leaders
To support rapid growth while maintaining safe student-to-coach ratios, we invest directly in training local staff and coaches. In Fall 2026, we are launching our Junior Coach Leadership Initiative, empowering teenage participants (ages 14–17) to serve as volunteer mentors for younger classes. This initiative allows teens to earn required school community service hours while expanding instructional capacity across our sites at zero added cost.
National Competitions & Advanced Clinics
We prepare our promising teenage participants (ages 14+) for high-level athletic and leadership opportunities. Our local support provides travel stipends for qualifying athletes to compete in national events—such as sending four local participants to the Drive, Chip & Putt Sub-Regional Qualifier in Florida—and supports participants selected for prestigious national honors, including the First Tee Innovators Forum.
